Laura Cypress
Laura is an enthusiastic advocate for East Coast wines. Her interest in food science and fermentation brought her to the University of California, Davis where she graduated in 2013 with a degree in Viticulture and Enology, a minor in French language, and the desire to get messy. Following graduation, Laura spent the 2013 vintage at Domaine de l’Arlot in Premeaux-Prissey, Burgundy, as a laureate of the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin. From there, Laura continued to harvest-hop globally and domestically, cleaning presses and digging out tanks in Tennessee, California, Oregon, New Zealand, Australia, and New York. She ultimately found a home in the Hudson River Region, New York, where she spent seven vintages as a winemaker making everything from premium single-vineyard Cabernet Franc to delightfully juicy hybrid blush. In 2023, Laura joined the technical team with Laffort USA, representing the East Coast and Midwest as a technical winemaker. These days, she offers technical support, winemaking protocols and seminars to winemakers across the country. Laura dreams of making winemaking accessible to everyone and is excited to be a resource to winemakers elevating the reputation of East Coast wines. When not troubleshooting tricky cellar situations, Laura enjoys hiking, biking, listening to the radio, donating blood, and exploring the Hudson Valley.

Lindsey Wallingford
As both Winemaker and Vineyard Manager, Lindsey Wallingford embodies the belief that the best wines are made in the vineyard. In this dual role, Lindsey works alongside the winery’s in-house vineyard team, guiding the farming of the estate’s 14 individual blocks. In the winery, she applies her talents to single clone fermentations each harvest, to ultimately create three different Cabernet Sauvignons from the property and to ensure that each wine reflects the Estate and the age-worthy style of Saint Helena Winery.
Lindsey began her career studying and working in vineyards of Washington State before she could even legally drink. She laughs when she thinks about the times her supervisors would help her purchase bottles of wine so she could become familiar with the effects of “terroir.” Since then, Lindsey has worked in the wine regions of Australia, New Zealand, Oregon, and across California.
Lindsey is dedicated to the land, and bringing out the best of the property. Through organic farming practices, minimizing tillage, and introducing honey bees, Lindsey and Saint Helena Winery are continuously striving to leave the land better than it was found.
