Bâtonnage Mentorship Level Three

Work Placements & Training Programs

Level Three equips candidates to enter, gain experience, and grow in the wine industry by creating hands-on work opportunities and unique, one-of-a-kind experiences for candidates that will further their understanding of the annual cycle of a winery, career progress in the wine industry and their specific passion for their Industry Area of Focus (IAF). Candidates selected for this program will have a basic education related to their field, eligibility requirements based on the partner organization, and clarity in terms of desired career growth. The mentorship program will directly provide mentees with relevant exposure to aspects of their IAF and more overarching understanding of the organization that they are working with. This program relies on committed companies and organizations willing to create specific programs that provide candidates with real, tailored work experience to further their careers and propel progress and inclusivity in our industry, while providing mentorship and guidance along the term of the opportunity. The program includes aspects of Level 1 and Level 2 while simultaneously providing candidates with tangible, meaningful experience. The mentee will receive one-on-one support from our incredible IAF heads, access to the Forum, access to educational resources and community building within our ever growing tribe of mentors and mentees. We are also able to provide financial guidance to the selected mentee to help make this dream opportunity a reality and to support their education and passion for the industry.

The commitment of Level 3 is to truly open doors into the wine industry, creating channels for a driven, committed, and passionate mentee. We promise to work in conjunction with the growing aspirations of our mentee, requirements and commitment of our partner organization and the resources available within our organization to create a meaningful experience for ALL.

Current Opportunities

Our Level 3 Mentorship opportunities are all (very!) unique, and you’ll find ongoing openings covering different IAFs posted here as they become available. Our vision for the Level 3 opportunities is to push beyond the traditional forms on internships in each IAF; we believe strongly that the change we are advocating for requires us to re-assess the approach with which new candidates enter and succeed in this industry. Each Level 3 Program was intentionally designed—hours of collaborative work between our Mentorship Committee members and the partner organization—to specifically showcase and teach mentees the specifics of their particular business, organization and/or a distinct role within the company. We believe this bespoke program spanning a broad swath of differently styled approaches offers the best opportunity for our mentees to get an authentic, informative and enriching mentorship experience, because just as every job and company is unique, every mentor has their own way of… well, mentoring! We ask our mentors to be creative and innovative with their program creation—as well as honest about what they can commit in terms of time and scheduling; likewise, we ask our mentees to apply to an opportunity only if it matches up with their style, interests and goals and ability to commit in terms of time and scheduling.

To apply, mentees should be ready to submit their most recent resume, one professional letter of reference, and the completed, formal application for the program(s) they are interested in pursuing. Submitting a letter of intent is optional, though highly encouraged. Your application will be deemed INCOMPLETE if all items are not provided at the final submission.

Pssst. Additional opportunities coming soon!
